Footnote:
Christiane met Stanley Kubrick when she was cast in the film Paths of Glory. They married in 1958 and the marriage lasted until Kubrick's death in 1999. Although trained as an actress Christiane is better known as a painter. She has had international success with exhibitions in New York, Rome and London. Her works have appeared in A Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut. In addition to her signature bold and colourful floral still life of sunflowers the present work depicts photographs of her three children and Stanley in a photoframe, lower right.
