Omar Ramsden (1873-1939): a large silver casket of shaped oval form, London 1931, the hinged cover with engraved Coat of Arms for the City of London, the gilt-lined interior with presentation inscription, 'Omar Ramsden Me Fecit' engraved to the underside, 27 cm wide x 21.5 cm x 7.5 cm high, 53 ozt.
Presented to Arthur W. Dorling Esq, by Steadman, Crowther & Co Ltd, December 1951, as a retirement gift. Mt Dorling had previously been awarded the freedom of the City of London. Retained in the family by descent. Also present here is the original presentation letter, together with a Certificate of Insurance for the box, also dated December 1951.
