Peter Green: A second set of Handwritten Lyrics for ‘Closing My Eyes’ From the Album ‘Then Play On’ by Fleetwood Mac, 1969 –
A draft on two sheets of lined notepaper written in Peter Green’s hand in black felt-tip pen and blue ballpoint, the draft is close to the recorded lyric but with some deletions, differences and amendments. ‘Then Play On’ is the third studio album by Fleetwood Mac, 12.7 x 20.3cm.
Peter Green (1946-2020) was a founding member of rock band Fleetwood Mac - and the genius behind the hits 'Albatross', 'Black Magic Woman', and 'Man of the World'. He is still widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists and songwriters of all time, and despite leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1970, Peter’s pioneering talents gained him a following of faithful fans which include fellow legendary guitarists such as Jimmy Paige, Eric Clapton, Kirk Hammett, David Gilmour, and Noel Gallagher.
