John Pawson CBE (b. 1949)

English architect and designer, born in Halifax, Yorkshire. Best known for his rigorous minimalist style, Pawson trained in Japan and established his practice in London in 1981. Notable projects include the Novy Dvur Monastery in the Czech Republic, the Calvin Klein store in New York, and the Design Museum conversion in London. Awarded a CBE in 2019, his designs embody clarity and calm, influencing global minimalist architecture.
