Hamilton and Co, of Calcutta a Parisian "Anglaise Riche" jumbo carriage clock, with a simple one-piece white enamel Roman dial with blued hands, the movement chiming the hours on a coil gong and the half hours as a passing strike, 10 cm wide x 9cm deep x 19 cm overall height (to the top of the raised bale handle).

Hamilton & Co are recorded as working between 1865 and 1911 and had branches in London, Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, and Simla (India)

Sold for £180

Condition Report

The bevelled lenses are all good, but the dial has some fine cracks in the enamel

The movement winds well and runs strongly on both trains, this is of course no guarantee of accuracy or reliability

I think the balance /platform may well be a good quality replacement (plain brass rather than silvered)
