Ronald Reagan made his acting debut in Love Is on the Air (1937) and was elected to President of the Screen Actors Guild in 1947 where his first tenure saw various management disputes including the Hollywood blacklist. Reagan served as Governor of California 1967-1975, and served as the 40th President of the United State (1981-1989)
