The menu from a luncheon held at the Palace of Holyrood House, Edinburgh, Scotand, on 21st May, 1929, after a Levee and General Assembly were held. The Duke of York (George VI) who was visiting Edinburgh was in attendance as he has just become His Majesty’s Lord High Commissioner that year. The menu was signed by George VI signed ‘Albert’, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother signed ‘Elizabeth’ both known as the Duke and Duchess of York at the time; Helen Graham, Elizabeth’s lady-in-waiting; Lord Herbert Andrew Montagu-Douglas-Scott signed ‘Andrew Scott’ and his wife Lady Victoria Haig; Lady Victoria Wemyss, Elizabeth’s lady-in-waiting (extra) and two others signed around the menu listing, 16.5cm x 11cm overall.
