An important associated suite of six colonial Anglo-Indian chairs early 19th century or earlier, in intricately carved hardwood, four large and two smaller, the larger four with pierced backs detailed with scrolling foliate and floral pediments, adorned with carved figures, flanked by beasts, parrot finials and surmounted by angels, all with inset ivory eyes, above twisted columns interspersed with acorn finials. The felt-lined drop-in seats (seemingly original) set within symmetrical foliate carved borders, below further pierced foliate friezes, the twisted legs united by further twisted stretchers, 101 cm high, 57 cm wide, 51 cm deep. The smaller two similarly decorated, the pierced backs detailing central eagles and shells flanked by figures and mermaids before figural finials, with arched balustrade panels before scrolling friezes, supported on turned baluster legs united by scrolling stretchers, 86 cm high, 51 cm wide, 45 cm deep. Many show old paper numeric labels to frames, one bearing a label reading 'Art Treasures Exhibition, Wrexham, 1876'.
