The Smiths / Morrissey: two copies an original live booking contract, both signed twice by Morrissey, for his Japan tour in December 1995, confirming the agreement between Autonomous Talent Booking, the Promoters, and Morrissey, dated 21st October 1995. It lists the schedule of 4 shows with the associated capacity per venue. Ticket prices are stated at '7,000 Yen, including 3& Consumption Tax and 8% Box Office Commission or 6,230 Yen Nett Per Person)'. The contract goes on to state 'The Promoter agrees to pay 50% of the Total Guarantee (i.e. the sum of $150,000 US Dollars minus 15% Withholding tax)...'.

Other clauses include 'The Promoter shall provide and pay for the Artistes hospitality rider and catering requirements to the exact and precise specification of the Artiste, as defined in the Artiste's Rider. Wherever possible a separate dining area shall be made available for the sole and exclusive use of vegetarians', and 'The Artiste reserves the right to play a 20 minute tape of recorded music through the House PA System, immediately prior to his performance'.

Morrissey has signed the front and last page of each, in black pen, and dated it 30.10.95

Also included here is an extensive archive of ephemera relating to this Japanese tour, to include a copy of the Rider, a tour itinerary, the original enquiries as to the dates , financial information, and others.

From the personal collection of the late Mike Hinc, former booking agent for Morrissey, The Smiths and others. The lot forms part of an extensive archive of related items in this sale, consigned by the family of Mike Hinc.
