Dawsons Partners with the RNLI as the Charity Celebrates its 200th Year

Join the Dawsons Team this July at the Shoreham Harbour Lifeboat Station

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the RNLI is ready to launch. Volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour rescue service in the UK and Ireland and our seasonal lifeguards patrol busy beaches. In 2024, they celebrate a huge milestone, marking 200 years of lifesaving. In years gone by, volunteers launched wooden lifeboats with oars and sails, but now they save lives on motor-powered all-weather lifeboats with state-of-the-art technology and communications.

Old and new, in every single one of those lifeboats, the crew have been the same: unwilling to stand by and do nothing when people are in trouble. Many people don’t know the RNLI are a charity, independent of government, and supported by the generosity of the general public. That’s a powerful combination of kindness and courage, and together since 1824 they saved more than 144,000 lives.

Dawsons are proud to support the RNLI, and we ask you to join the Dawsons Team for "An Antiques Roadshow-esque Valuation Day" on the 27th July at the Shoreham Harbour Lifeboat Station for a day filled with treasures and nostalgia.

In this special year, we are working in Partnership with the RNLI to raise much needed funds to help in their mission to save more lives at sea - we hope you can play your part too:

Dawsons' expert Valuers will be on hand to value smaller items of jewellery, watches, silver, art & antiques...

Please book a slot and our friendly team of Valuers will provide a valuation for the items you bring along on the day - for a suggested donation of £5 per item to the RNLI. Note that if you wish to support the RNLI further, you could gift the item to be auctioned off by Dawsons, with zero seller’s commission - which means that all proceeds will go to the RNLI.

We look forward to seeing you on the 27th!
