Major Ronald Cardew Duncan, OBE, MVO (1886–1963), Grenadier Guards and Gurkhas; his Spink & Son court-mounted medal group, comprising: OBE, Royal Victorian Order, India General Service Medal, with five clasps (North West Front 1908, Afghanistan NWF 1919, Mahsud 1919-1920, Waziristan 1919 & North West Front 1930-1931), WWI 1914-15 Star, Campaign Medal and Victory Medal (with oak leaf), WWII Medal, 1939-45 India Medal, 1935 Silver Jubilee Medal, 1937 Coronation Medal and QEII Coronation Medal, mounted in a glazed presentation case, together with accompanying ribbons and conforming miniatures, also framed.
Also present is a framed oil portrait of Major Duncan, indistinctly signed and dated '46, 63 cm x 50 cm (the frame 84 cm x 71 cm), together with another by the same hand, depicting a younger man (possibly Major Duncan as a younger man).
Retained in the family by descent.
