Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003 film), a production 'Cursed Aztec' medallion, one of those from the caverns of Isla de Muerta when Geoffrey Rush's character Hector Barbossa and his men returned Aztec treasure from a previous theft, to lift their curse. 800 were made for the chest of medallions shown in the film. The item is gold-plated metal with a skull and solar design to one side, a geometric pattern to the reverse, 4 cm diameter, weighing 32g. This example is consigned by the designer and maker of the medallion, Keir Lusby, Prop Maker at Shepperton Studios at the time of the film, who has provided a letter of authenticity.
