A Chinese altar vase and cover, Dou, Qing dynasty, probably Guangxu period ( 1875 - 1908), the cover with ball finial above relief moulded ruyi head pendants and a band of leiwen, the ovoid body raised on a tall flaring foot with central knop, relief moulded to the exterior with stylised geometric designs, 26cm, with pierced and carved wood stand

Condition Report
The cover with small glaze frits to the leiwen band, otherwise in good condition with no obvious faults. The base has a small restored rim chip from which issues an inverted 'T' shaped hair line crack, approx 4cm in height and 6cm wide, the lower sectrion of the crack curving upwards ( see online images). Rings out nicely when lightly tapped. The wood stand with small losses and some repairs.
