The brooch was presented to the vendor's family by Princess Haya bint Hussein, after facilitating the birth of Sheikha Al Jalila bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the first child of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Princess Haya bint Hussein in 2007. The vendor's family also delivered the second child of the couple, Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2012.
