A mid-18th century Continental (possibly Dutch) mother-of-pearl box, the circular hinged cover carved with Classical scene of Venus and her cherubs next to grape vines, the four side panels and the base engraved with bucolic still life scenes, in gilt cagework mounts, with integral thumbpiece open to reveal a glazed watercolour on card depicting the diva triformis, 7.0 cm wide, 3.8 cm high, no hallmarks.
