Hamlet (1990) Original draft working script, A Franco Zeffirelli Film, freely adapted from William Shakespeare’s tragedy, screenplay by Christopher Devore and Franco Zeffirelli, Marquis Films, Lee International Studios, Shepperton, dated April 3, 1990, Signed by Angela Allen in blue ink with her ownership name and pencil annotations to front page, unbound, 119-pages on white sheets with pink, yellow, and blue revision sheets, extensively annotated by Angela in pencil and ink throughout, 22 x 30cm; together with,a quantity of Angela’s original Continuity and Production documents, to include, 'Notes and Ideas given by Mel Gibson', July 30 1990; three Call Sheets for the shoot at Dover Castle, April 24-26,1990; Daily Production Report Progress Reports (complete) nos. 1-64, which record events behind-the-scenes during the shoot and mishaps that occurred on the production.

Zeffirelli’s film was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design. Sir Alan Bates received a Bafta nomination as Best Supporting Actor for his role as Claudius.

Angela Allen, Script Supervisor, has worked on many of cinema’s celebrated films such as, The Third Man (1949), The African Queen (1951), The Misfits (1961),The Night of the Iguana (1964), Charge of the Light Brigade (1968), The Dirty Dozen (1967), Women in Love (1969), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Zulu Dawn (1979), Labyrinth (1986), and Tea with Mussolini (1999) to name but a few.
