The Who, ‘Face Dances’ 1981, lithographic print, multi-signed by The Who, Peter Blake and other artists -
album front-panel artwork, limited edition numbered 54/300, multi-signed by Peter Blake and some of the other contemporary artists commissioned by Blake for the individual portraits including, Colin Self, Allen Jones, David Inshaw, Clive Barker, Howard Hodgkin, Patrick Caulfield, Joe Tilson, Patrick Procktor and further signed by The Who, signatures include the full-1981 band line up including, Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Kenney Jones, within tissue paper, 28 x 28cm; with accompanying provenance documentation, all contained within protective cardboard box.
Provenance:
The Collection of Jim Callaghan who was responsible for security on The Who’s tours from 1975-1983 and was gifted this print at the 1981 launch party of the album. The signatures were signed for Callaghan in person at the event.
