Peter Green: Handwritten Lyrics for ‘Closing My Eyes’ From The Album ‘Then Play On’ by Fleetwood Mac, 1969 –

A draft in blue ballpoint pen by Peter Green on two sheets of headed stationary from the Strand Hotel, Umea, Sweden, with some differences to the recorded version, such as Line 2: ‘From the room where I sit I know you’re there waiting'. Fleetwood Mac played in Umea on Friday 28th March 1969 during their third Scandinavian tour. Peter Green recorded the track on Saturday 31st May and sang and played all the instruments, including guitar, bass, organ, and timpani, 15.2 x 21cm.

Peter Green (1946-2020) was a founding member of rock band Fleetwood Mac - and the genius behind the hits 'Albatross', 'Black Magic Woman', and 'Man of the World'. He is still widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists and songwriters of all time, and despite leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1970, Peter’s pioneering talents gained him a following of faithful fans which include fellow legendary guitarists such as Jimmy Paige, Eric Clapton, Kirk Hammett, David Gilmour, and Noel Gallagher.
