Ai Weiwei (b. 1957) Chinese, 'The Papercut Portfolio', a complete set of eight papercuts, 2019, on wove paper, with title page, colophon and text, stamp-numbered 116 on the colophon, from the edition of 250, each print signed in pencil, published by Taschen, London, six of the the sheets loose (as issued), and two framed, each papercut with a titled outer envelope, contained within the original red clothbound clamshell portfolio, each 60 cm x 60 cm, (titled 'New York', 'Cats and Dogs', 'Map of China', 'Furniture'; 'Haircut', 'Citizens Investigation', 'River Crabs' and 'Zodiac'). 'New York' and 'Cats and Dogs' are displayed in glazed frames, their original envelopes still present.
