A collection of gem-set bar brooches; comprising paste and seed pearl bar brooch of floral crossover design, to a 4.5cm double bar in yellow metal, testing as 10ct, pin testing as silver, with C-hook clasp; an emerald and seed pearl bar brooch, centred with a square-cut emerald of 2.8mm x 2.8mm, collet-set with millgrain detail, flanked by two rows of three seed pearls in matching millgrain collet settings, to a 4cm bar in yellow metal marked ‘9ct’, with additional safety chain; a gem-set brooch in the form of a beetle, to a 3cm bar brooch in yellow metal testing as 14ct; a double bar brooch centred with paste and seed pearls to a foliate mount, with encircling border of twisted design, in yellow metal testing as 14ct, with additional safety chain and later added C-clasp; a plain 9ct gold 4.5cm bar brooch by Joshua Horton & Son, with London import marks, approximately 3.3 grams; gross weight approximately 11.1 grams (5).
