An early twentieth-century Russian cigarette case, of rectangular form and fluted design, with a vesta compartment, featuring a diamond-set monogram 'AK' to the front and a cabochon sapphire set thumbpiece, measuring approximately 95mm x 72mm, with assay marks for 56-zolotnik gold (Russian gold standard for 14ct gold) and district mint marks for St Petersburg, 1908-1927; maker's marks 'L.?'; 172.6 grams
