A Victorian amethyst and seed pearl necklace, nine graduated oval-cut amethyst in claw settings, encompassed by a seed pearl border and scrolled motifs, flanked by jump rings with a seed pearl in square collets, arranged in a colour gradient from intense purple to paler purple, centrally suspending a heart-shaped amethyst drop with a polished convex crown and faceted pavilion, accented with an old-cut diamond, the articulated sections are then attached to a seed pearl-set chain alternating with star-shaped and round links, completed by an embellished box clasp, yellow metal unmarked, overall length measures 44.8 cm; total weight of item 34.8 grams.
