A bespoke trumpet, modified for Vivian Stanshall, founding member of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, with applied brass stylised 'sperm' adornments, some set with cabochon stones as eyes, maker's mark not present, but with a serial number 2423, together with an Alessi Vacchiano mute and an associated carry case, the case bearing an address card reading 'Vivian Stanshall & Longfellow, 'Searchlight', The Towpath, Dumsey Meadow, Chertsey Road, Shepperton, Middlesex, TW17 9NU'.

Consigned by Vivian’s son, Rupert Stanshall, the items provide a unique link to the life and work of ‘Viv’, once described by his Bonzo bandmate, Neil Innes, as ‘a national treasure’.
