A mid-Victorian natural saltwater pearl and diamond brooch cum pendant, featuring a central baroque natural saltwater pearl, measuring 8.9mm x 8.1mm, the pearl highlighted at each cardinal point with an old-cut diamond, encircled by a lozenge-shaped border, featuring rose-cut diamond chips in cut-down settings, the brooch featuring an old-cut diamond at each cardinal point in a millegrained collet setting, some tinted yellow, the lozenge form highlighted along the ouside edge with scrolled foliate motifs grain-set with rose-cut diamond chips, with hinged pendant fitting to reverse (with later-added bale) and detachable pin fitting with locking C clasp, brooch measuring approximately 3.8cm x 3.0cm, in white and yellow metal surface testing as silver on 9ct, 13.2 grams.
Accompanied by a verbal report by Gemmological Certification Services stating it as a natural saltwater pearl, report number 5786-3203.
