Dawsons announce relocation of London valuations office

We have moved!

21/09/2022

We are delighted to announce the relocation of our London valuations office, having recently moved to an exclusive and prestigious ‘shop front’ in the heart of Hampstead.

For the past five years, we have been based just around the corner, within the Antiques Emporium. Now, you can find us in our newly refurbished home at 8, Perrins Court, Hampstead, London, NW3 1QS.

It is a fantastic location, sharing all the charm and character that this picturesque pocket of London has to offer. A village-like setting, Hampstead is renowned for its chocolate box aesthetic, with its leafiness, cobbled streets, cosy pubs, busy cafes, and boutique shops and restaurants.

Not forgetting the surrounding Hampstead Heath that lends a secluded countryside feel, the office is almost tucked away from the hustle and bustle of busy central London. However, the city is never too far away and the views from the top of the heath are some of the best in London.

In recent times, our Hampstead office has seen many wonderful items coming through its doors, whilst some extraordinary local discoveries have also been made... none more so than a rare ‘Madonna and Child’ painting that sold for £255,000.

Our Head of Valuations - London, Siobhan Tyrrell, discovered the incredible painting when carrying out a valuation in a North London bungalow earlier this year. The 90-year-old owner had inherited the painting some 30 years prior, when her Italian father passed away. Siobhan recounts:

“Upon setting eyes on it, I recognised that it was an exceptional work from the 16th century… it literally glowed with quality! I immediately told the family of its potential worth, and they were keen for Dawsons to consign it to our Fine Art sale.”

“As Auctioneers, we are privileged to be given the opportunity to help our clients sell their art, antiques and jewellery, and our aim is to always achieve the best possible price for them. Here at Dawsons we use our own in-house bespoke international marketing to reach a huge global audience of potential buyers, which means increased numbers of bidders and ensures that we always achieve the best possible price for our clients”.

Siobhan, who you may recognise as a regular Valuer on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, is based at our Hampstead office. She goes on to say of our new location...

“We are proud to be situated in the bustling hive of activity that is Hampstead, amongst lovely cafes and restaurants. Visiting our valuation office has never been easier, and with the expert team at Dawsons having recently set two world records for items sold at auction, there really has never been a better time to sell”.
