It's from a private collector who spent a lifetime curating a brilliant collection of 40's-50's-60's watches and has been in storage for the past 20 years.
The H.S.9 engraving has been 'struck out', striking through the “H.S.9” which means the watch was subsequently reissued. Making it highly prized by collectors
HS9 was a UK Government issue to the Royal Naval Fleet Air Arm. The number 0552/924-3305, indicates that this was produced for the British Royal Navy between 1945 and 1950
