A WWII DFC Medal Group, awarded to New Zealand Pilot Officer William Robert Morris (NZ 429025), comprising Distinguished Flying Cross, 1939-1945 Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal, War Medal and New Zealand War Service Medal, together with ribbon bar, his RAF Corporal sleeve stripes and uniform Star, New Zealand MOD award sheet and similar citation note for the DFC, dated 1945, 'Pilot Officer Morris has completed numerous operations against the enemy in the course of which he has invariably displayed the utmost fortitude, courage and devotion to duty'. The original DFC Royal Mint box is also present.
William Morris served as a navigator on Lancaster Bombers during WWII, completing more than one tour.
Retained in the family by descent. William Morris returned to New Zealand following the war, before moving permanently back to England in the mid-1960s, with his family.
